Gladstone Park Primary School recognises the importance of Mathematics and provides students with essential mathematical skills and knowledge in Number and Algebra, Measurement and Geometry, and Statistics and Probability, as detailed in The Australian Mathematics Curriculum framework.
The curriculum supports the development of confident, creative users and communicators of mathematics, able to investigate, represent and interpret situations in their personal and work lives and as active citizens. Learning tasks focus on developing mathematical understanding, fluency, logical reasoning and analytical thought so that students are able employ mathematical strategies to make informed decisions and solve problems efficiently.
In pursuit of the school’s mantra, “Achieving Excellence”, students are engaged, supported and guided in building confidence and skills, and challenged and extended through enrichment programs.
