As music is a uniquely aural art and a universal form of expression, it is an integral part of the curriculum with a high profile at Gladstone Park Primary School. All students from Prep to Year 6 participate in a weekly specialist music program and we also run an outreach program into the community which offers some music sessions at local Kindergartens and pre-schools.
Students at the school are introduced to the violin during year 3 and may then choose to continue with lessons until Year 6 [and beyond!]. There are three choirs operating within the school; junior and senior choirs and an auditioned Chamber Choir. In addition to this there are percussion and recorder ensembles rehearsing at lunchtimes.
The Performing Arts are important at the school, with the children participating in [and being invited to] many performances every year both within the school and in the wider community.
